Felbert, Paul von, born 09-11-1894 in Wiesbaden, son of Major Paul von Felbert, who died old age 90 on 30-08-1940, entered the Army on 09-2-1912, age 17, as a Fähnrich in the 14th Grossherzoglich Mecklenburgische Jäger Battalion . He was in the fields during the first war and ended the war as Platoon leader of the 17th Infantry Regiment. Felbert remained in the new Reichswehr  and with the outbreak of World War II he was commander of the 8th Schützen Regiment of the 8th Panzer Division,  under command of General der Panzertruppe, Adolf Kuntzen  , who died age 64, on 10-07-1964. From 03-06-1940 to 20-06-1940 von Felbert was Army High Leader Reserve and then assigned with the command of the Special Employment Infantry Replacement Regiment in Wehrkreis VI. Von Felbert is detached to the Military Command of France under Karl von Stülpnagel  (see Otto von Stülpnagel) . He was Field Commander 560, in Besancon, France,   from 20-07-1942 until 10-09-1944 and in British captivity. Von Felbert was in Trent Park, transferred to the Island Farm and then in US custody until 03-11-1947 and released.

download (24)  Living in Wiesbaden, with many fellow WWII Generals, he died at the age of 78, on 03-02-1973 and is buried with his wife Elisabeth, who died old age 90, on 14-02-1976, on the Südfriedhof of Wiesbaden.   Generalmajor der Waffen SS. Harmel died age 94, on 02-09-2000 in Krefeld.  German writer and Nobel laureate Günther Grass
was an assistant tank gunner with the division after having been conscripted into the Waffen-SS at the age of 17 in November 1944. He was wounded  in action on 25-04-1945 and captured in a hospital.   1. Le général Von Felbert a participé en septembre 1943 à la prison de la Butte .Le tribunal militaire de la feldkommandantur 560 à Besançon à condamner à etre fusillés et déportés les membres du groupe de résistants du groupe Guy Mocquet et Marius Vallet à la citadelle de Besançon
