Karst, Friedrich, born 04-09-1893 in Deutsch Eylau, joined the Army Service on 11-05-1912, age 18, as a Fahnenjunker in the 16th Infantry Regiment. He was in the fields of the first war as a Platoon leader with the 7th Company of the 136th Infantry Regiment. As an Oberst and Commander of the 216th Infantry Regiment he was involved in World War II and taken ill in the Führer Reserve (see Adolf Hitler)
(did you know) to 06-08-1940. Appointed as Commander of the 461st Infantry Regiment to 06-09-1942. Delegated with the leadership of the 95th Infantry Division
until 27-09-1942 where he succeeded Generalleutnant der Infanterie, Friedrich Zickwolff,
Zickwolff was wounded
by French partisans in August 1943 and died from his wounds on 17-09-1943, age 50 Friedrich Zickwolff. The 95th Infantry Division was formed on 19-09-1939 in Wildflecken and Hammelburg. Karst became commander of the 262nd Infantry Division to 19-07-1943 and again in the Reserve
until 01-11-1943. Senior Field Commandant 672 and Commandant of Brussels until September 1944. Commander of the 466th Division, Replacement Division “Bielefeld” and landed in British captivity on 11-05-1945.
