Büchs, Walter, born 09-11-1881 in Cosel, Upper Silesia, 
joined the Army as a Fahnenjunker, at the age of 19, in the 21st Field Artillery Regiment. At the beginning of World War I he is an adjutant in the General Command of the VI Army Corps under command of General der Infanterie Kurt von Pritzelwitz. 
Between the war Walter is in the new 100.000 men Reichswehr and retired at the age of 55, on 31-10-1936. With the growing of Hitler’s Reichswehr, 
he is reactivated and starts World War II as commander of the 22nd Artillery Regiment. From 01-01-1942 temporary commander of the Higher Artillery Command 307. He lands in the infamous Führer Reserve, from 15-04-1942, gets again a command, now of the Higher Artillery Command 315 and again not useful for Hitler’s war fare, in the Führer Reserve (see Adolf Hitler) (did you know), from 20-06-1942. He at last is retired from 31-01-1943, age 61 and lives in Hanover.

Not being imprisoned by the Allied forces Buchs died at the old age of 88, on 23-07-1970 and is buried on the cemetery of Engeshode in Hanover, with his wife Gertrud, born Hagemann who died very old age of 97 on 28-12-1195.
