Lampe, Carl-Heinrich “Heinz”, born 25-07-1907 in Klein Flottbek, the son of Heinrich Lampe, himself a naval officer, Konteradmiral and his wife Lilli (resident at the end of the war in Bremen, Georg-Gröning-Straße 210). Carl-Heinrich on April 1926 after his Abitur joining the Reichsmarine (Crew 26) and he from on October 1938 to September 1941 was as an intelligence officer on-board of the battleship “Scharnhorst” during Operation “Juno”. The “Scharnhorst” was the first battleship that was built in Germany after the First World War. The warship of the German Navy was named after the Lieutenant General of the Prussian Army and military reformer Gerhard von Scharnhorst (1755-1813). On Boxing Day, 26-12-1943, the “Scharnhorst” was sunk by British Royal Navy units on patrol with 1,968 crew members on board – only 36 of the German marines were rescued alive. The Scharnhorst was commanded by squadron commander rear admiral Erich Bey, age 45,  and battleship captain Fritz Hintze

He was in the Staff Naval Station Command Baltic Sea Staff of the German Naval Command Italy as a corvette captain. From May 1942 to March 1943 Naval News Leader Italy as successor to Achim Teubner, replaced by Konteradmiral Fritz Krauss.   From 10-03-1943 to 20-12-1944 Commander destroyer “Z 30” Appointed from 01-09-1944 as frigate captain. From 11-01-1945 to 06-03-1945 Commander of the destroyer “Z 28”  He from 21-03-1945 commanded on “Z 30”   However, the destroyer was after a patrol, badly damaged at the Nyland shipyard in Oslo and should no longer be used. From March 30 to May 3, 1945 Commander of the destroyer “Z 43”  When Germany was almost defeated and Adolf Hitler dead he was ordered from 10-05-1945 to the Torpedo School I (Torpedo School Mürwik) under the Karl Dönitz government.  From 03-10-1945 he was District Commander of Brunsbüttel / Zweidorf  From December to January 2, 1946 again commander of a destroyer, the “Z 15 Erich Steinbrinck”  They surrenered and hand over the loot ship “R 92” (Z 15 “Erich Steinbrinck”) .

The service was not over for Carl-Heinrich Lampe, however, captured by the British from December 1945 to 02-01-1946 he as command of Z 15 “Erich Steinbrinck” (so named after Leutnant Erich Steinbrinck, who died in the 1916 Battle of the Skagerrak). The boat was the “R 92” war booty of the Royal Navy and was drawn by lot on 01-01-1946, to the Soviet Navy. Lampe had the sad and humiliating task of delivering the warship (with five other ships, including the light cruiser “Nürnberg”) to the enemy. The remaining German crews of the six ships were brought back to Germany by the submarine escort ship “Otto Wünsche”, which was on board and later also delivered to the Soviet Navy. Otto Wünsche was a SS Standartenführer and former adjudant of Adolf Hitler.

Back home Carl-Heinrich „Heinz“.Lampe reired in Bremen and where he died on 08-01-1984, age 76. Karl-Heinrich was buried, with his wife Ingeborg, born Eiterick, who died on 25-11-1997, age 85, on the Cemetery Friedberger, Bremen-Riensberg..
