on 31-10-1944 as Commander of the 72nd Infanterie-Division.
The 72nd Infantry Division was created on 19-09-1939 in Trier from Grenz-Division Trier
, which was a border security unit. It was destroyed on the Eastern Front 25-03-1944 and reformed June 1944. Meanwhile a Generalmajor detached to the 10th Division’s
until 20-04-1945.
Menny died age 56 on 06-12-1949. Hohn’s last command was of the XI Army Corps
and lands in Allied captivity on 09-05-1945. While the majority of the subordinate XI Army Korps fell into Soviet captivity at the end of the war, Hohn could settle west to surrender to the US-British troops there on May 09-05-1945.Death and burial ground of Hohn, Dr. Hermann.
Released as a Generalleutnant on 23-02-1948 he retired in Ladenburg. From 1953 to 1965 he was a candidate of a Free Voters Association Mayor of Ladenburg. Herman Hohn at the age of 71 died, on 12-11-1968. Hohn is buried with his wife Lydia, who died old age 93, in 1996, on the Stadtfriedhof of Ladenburg.
