Remembrance Day Netherlands

Remembrance Day Netherlands, annually on 4th May in the Netherlands all civilians and members of the armed forces of the Kingdom of the Netherlands who have died in wars of peacekeeping missions since the world war II are commemorated.
Each year the ceremonies are held in Amsterdam on the Dam Square. This ceremony is always attended by member of the royal family and of the cabinet, military leaders and other groups. At 20.00 two minutes of silence is observed throughout the Netherlands.
The next day, on May 5, Dutch people celebrate the liberation of the nation from the German occupation of 1940 to 1945.
