Lorenz, Walter, born 17-09-1884, in Friedenau, joined the Army on 01-10-1903, age 19, in the 76th Infanterie Regiment and was in the fields of the first war with this Regiment as a battalion commander and Oberleutnant. The 76th Reserve Division initially fought on the Eastern Front. Its baptism of fire was in the Second Battle of the Masurian Lakes.
