Lorenz, Walter, born 17-09-1884, in Friedenau, joined the Army on 01-10-1903, age 19, in the 76th Infanterie Regiment and was in the fields of the first war with this Regiment as a battalion commander and Oberleutnant. He remained temporary in the new Reichswehr and retired on 31-07-1924. Lorenz entered the Luftwaffe Service
on 22-08-1934 as a Chief Supply Office in the Staff of Higher Air Office Dresden, age 49 and Major. With the outbreak of World War II he was as an Oberst in the Staff of Air Fleet Command I, until 30-04-1940. Commander Air Group 4 in Dresden, to 30-04-1941 and General with Special Duties of the commander in Chief of the Luftwaffe until 19-12-1941. Senior Quartermaster of Luftwaffe Command Centre to 30-11-1942. His last command, now a Generalmajor, was as Military Replacement Inspector of Düsseldorf to 17-04-1945 and landed in US captivity.

In arrest 17-04-1945 and released two years later on 03-03-1947, Lorenz lived in Bad Herrenalb, where he at the old age of 90 died, on 20-02-1975. He is buried on the village cemetery of Bad Herrenalb.
