Eibenstein, Rudolf, born on 02-07-1894 in Bischofswerder, Saxony, entered the Army as a Fahnenjunker and Battalion Officer in the 8th Royal Saxon Field Artillerie Regiment on 17-03-1913, age 18. He participated during the first war battles and ended as a Battalion Leader of the 408th Field Artillery Regiment. Eibenstein was allowed in the new Reichswehr  and at the beginning of World War II he was Chief of Staff of the Air Region Command II, to 31-03-1941. Next command of the Flak Brigade IX, following the 12th Motorized Flak Division, to 21-12-1941. Rudolf succeeded his command to Generalleutnant Gotthard Frantz,  Commander of the 7th Flak Division to 11-12-1942 and transferred to the Luftwaffe Region Staff Africa to 21-03-1943. Following commander of the 16th Flak Division and the 26th Flak Division, where he succeeded then Oberst Ernst Uhl   to 02-05-1945 , when he landed in US captivity, until 16-09-1947. Ernst Uhl died age 80 on 25-01-1976 in Vienna.

Eibenstein lived in Gauting after the war, where he at the old age of 89 died, on 18-01-1984. Eibenstein is buried on the old cemetery in Gauting, a heavy neglected grave and only steps from the graves of the WWII General der Infanterie, Kommandeur LIII Heeres Regiment, Adolf Ritter von Ruith
    and Generalleutnant der Flieger, Commanding General of Support Staff of the Royal Hungarian Luftwaffe, Walter Schwabbedissen.
