Wantke, Oskar, born 17-10-1872, on 01-10-1891 joined  the 2nd Nassau Infantry Regiment No. 88 in Mainz. In 1903 Oskar commanded to the Landwehr district command Siegen as adjutant. In 1904 in the 1st company of the 88th Infantry Regiment. From 1905 – 1907, regimental adjutant of the 88th Infantry Regiment From 1909 till 31-08-1913 Chief of the 2nd Company of the Infantry Regiment “von Horn” (3rd Rhenish) No. 29 (Trier). The Regiment was called after Heinrich Wilhelm von Horn (31-10-1762–31-10-1829) a Prussian Generalleutnant  who fought in the Napoleonic Wars. Oskar from 09-01-1913 was transfer to the Marines.

Oldenburg Friedrich August Cross 2nd Class.  Order of the Württemberg Crown, Knight with Swords.

Wantke, Oskar Oskar Wantke, died 02-11-1940, age 68, in Wiesbaden.and is buried at the Wiesbaden, Südfriedhof. Siegfriedring 25, 65189 Wiesbaden.
