, in Munich, entered the Army as a Fahnenjunker in the 10th Bavarian Infantry Regiment
, on 19-09-1909, age 19. Adjutant of the II battalion of the 10th Bavarian Reserve Regiment until 05-11-1914. Friedrich was in the fields of the first war with this Regiment, two times wounded
in hospital and ended the war as an Adjutant. Fürst retained in the new Reichswehr, promoted to Major on 01-02-1931, Oberstleutnant on 01-07-1934 and Oberst on 01-10-1936, as commander of the II Battalion of the 21st Infantery Regiment to 01-05-1937 . With the outbreak of World War II he was the commander of the 6th Cavalry Rifle Brigade to 14-09-1939. He was commander of different Regiments and landed, taken ill, on 15-08-1941 in the Führer Reserve, for the first time. After again different commands he landed in the Reserve again from 15-01-1944 to 20-02-1944. He became leader of the Formation Staff of the Infantry Division “Mähren”, until 26-08-1944 and in the Reserve again to 30-09-1944. 





The Infanterie-Division Mähren was formed in August 1944 at Truppenübungsplatz Mielau as a Schatten-Division (Shadow-Division, used to reinforce other units or to be upgraded into a normal division). It was used to form 565. Volksgrenadier-Division in August.
General with Special Duties with Military District Command X, Hamburg , Schleswig-Holstein a part of Hanover, until 10-10-1944 and delegated with the leadership of the Division 180
, to 21-12-1944. In the Führer Reserve again (see Adolf Hitler) (did you know) and detached to the Course of POW affairs, in Vienna, to 15-12-1944. As commander of the POW’s Military District XI, Hanover,
Braunschweig, Anhalt, and Magdeburg, Fürst landed in captivity until 27-11-1947.
