Herudt von Rhode, Hans Detlef.

Herudt von Rhode, Hans, born 23-09-1899, in  Legnica, Polen, ten years after Adolf Hitler (did you know), joined the Army Service, age 18, on 30-09-1917 in the 1^st Guards Artillery Regiment and retired on 31-10-1929 as a Oberleutnant. He reactivated to the Army Service and detached to the 8^th Mountain Regiment. He was transferred to the Luftwaffe Service  as a Flying Hauptmann with the German Air Sport Formation, the secretly and camouflaged, Luftwaffe in Russia. With the outbreak of World War II Herhudt von Rohden was detached to Instruction Wing I to 30-09-1939. He was Course Leader at the Air War Academy in Berlin, Gatow, Gatow the airport from which Robert Ritter von Greim   and Hanna Reitsch

   started to the Führerbunker at the end of the war

, Von Greim became the successor of Hermann Göring(did you know), who felt in disfavour. Following commander of Bomber Wing 4, General Walther Wever to 26-07-1940, General Wever crashed in 1936, age 48. Assigned as Chief of Staff of the IV Flying Corps to 30-09-1941 and of the IX Corps to 12-08-1942. Appointed to Chief of Air Fleet 4 until 28-02-1943 and of the Air Fleet I to 30-09-1943. Herhudt was promoted to Generalmajor on 01-10-1943. Chief of the 8^th Department in Luftwaffe General Staff until 01-04-1945. Delegated with the Formation of a Luftwaffe Catch Staff with the High Command of the Parachute Army until 01-05-1945.

Herhudt landed in American captivity until his release on 26-11-1947.
