Daehncke, Carl, born in 1872, was a Korvetten Kapitän of the German Kriegsmarine.  After the war he retired in the beautiful town of Garmisch Partenkirchen , where he at the old age of 88 died in 1960. Daenhcke is buried with his wife Anny, who died age 84 in 1962, on the Stadtfriedhof of Partenkirchen. On this cemetery are also buried the WWII personalities, the General der Flieger, Kommandeur Luftregio XVIII, Egon Doerstling
   , Generalleutnant der Gebirgstruppe, Commander of the 1st Mountain Division , Walter Ritter Strettner von Grabenhofen, Generalleutnant der Infanterie, Stadt Commander of Dresden, Robert Schlüter, composer Richard Strauss and the Wannsee Conference participant, Eric Neumann . On the Garmich Stadtfriedhof are the graves of the WWII Generals, General der Artillerie, Kommandeur 16th Armeekorps, Christian Hansen, Generalleutnant der Artillerie, Kommandeur Artillerie Regiment Fallschirmjäger, Iwan Ilsemann, Generalleutnant der Infanterie, Kommandeur Weapen-DevelopmentRichard John, Generalleutnant der Flieger, Flyer Replacement Division, Theodor Triendl, Generalleutnant der Panzertruppe, Kommandant Festung Pillau, Eduard Hauser and General der Flieger, Kommandeur Luftregio Belgium-France, Wilhelm Wimmer.
