Hauger, Erich, born 08-06-1895 in Pfullendorf, District of Konstanz, entered the Army age 18, as a Fahnenjunker in the 169th Infantry Regiment, on 14-11-1913. He was in the fields of the first war, as a Company Officer and wounded in hospital in September 1914. He was again wounded in Mai 1918 and ended the war in the Staff of the XIV Army Corps under command of Generalleutnant Friedrich von Gontard. Von Gontard died age 82 in 1942. Hauger was allowed in the new Reichswehr and with the outbreak of World War II, he was the commander of the 459th Infantry Regiment. Hauger landed in the infamous Führer Reserve of the OKH (see Adolf Hitler) (did you know) until 04-07-1940. He was Chief of Central Office Group OKH, until 15-08-1942. Promote to Major General on 01-08-1942. Armaments Inspector Upper Rhein Strassbourg, to June 1945. Hauger landed in French captivity in June 1945 and released in December 1945.

Retiring in Baden Baden, he died at the age of 66, on 26-06-1961 and is buried with his wife Carola, born Bandel, who died old age 87, on 12-02-2002, on the Hauptfriedhof of Freiburg, Breisgau. On the same cemetery are buried the Generalleutnant der Artillerie, Kommandeur der “Division von Berg”, Kurt von Berg, Generalmajor der Artillerie, Kommandeur der 719th Infanterie-Division, Rudolf Bader and Generalarzt der Wehrmacht, Medic in the 19th Army Corps, Ernst Baader.
