Father Heinrich Ernst Göring was married with Caroline Maria de Neree (1815–1901) and they had five children. Heinrich Ernst Göring married secondly Franziska Tiefenbrunn: 
the marriage produced five recorded children. He died age 74 in Munich on 07-12-1913 and mother Franziska “Fanny” Tiefenbrunn, born in 1859 and died 15-07-1923 in Munich. Hermann was the fourth child of the five children, born by the Jewish doctor, lord of a castle 
and friend of his father Heinrich, Hermann Epenstein Ritter von Mauternburg 
. Epenstein was half-Jew and had converted to Christianity. He became an army physician in the Kingdom of Prussia and also made a fortune as a businessman. He died Mauterndorf, 06-06-1934, age 83.

born 03-08-1885 also in Rosenheim and he a jurist, died age 47 on 01-10-1932 in Hanover. Olga Therese Sophie Göring, born 16-01-1889 in Walvis Bay, German south Africa and she died age 81 in 1970. Paula Elisabeth Rosa Göring, born 1890 and died 1960, age 70, Hermann born in 1893 and Albert Göring, born 09-03-1895, 
a business man who died age 71 in Munich.
At the time that Göring was born, his father was serving as consul general in Haiti, and his mother had returned home briefly to give birth. She left the six-week-old baby with a friend in Bavaria and did not see the child again for three years, when she and Heinrich returned to Germany. When Hermann, three years old, saw his mother back home he hit her in the face with his fist as she wanted to hug him. Hermann Göring’s godfather was Dr. Hermann Epenstein 
, a wealthy Jewish physician and businessman his father had met in Africa. Epenstein provided the Göring family, who were surviving on Heinrich’s pension, first with a family home in Berlin-Friedenau, then in a small castle called Veldenstein, near Nuremberg. Göring’s mother became Epenstein’s mistress around this time, and remained so for some fifteen years. Epenstein acquired the minor title of Ritter von Epenstein through service and donations to the Crown.
Interested in a career as a soldier from a very early age, Göring enjoyed playing with toy soldiers and dressing up in a Boer uniform his father had given him. He was sent to boarding school at age eleven, where the food was poor and discipline was harsh. He sold a violin to pay for his train ticket home, and then took to his bed, feigning illness, until he was told he would not have to return. He continued to enjoy war games, pretending to lay siege to the castle Veldenstein and studying Teutonic legends and sagas. He became a mountain climber, scaling peaks in Germany, at the Mont Blanc massif, and in the Austrian Alps.
Hermann Göring entered the Army in 1914 as an Infantry Lieutenant

, he ended the war with the romantic aura of a much decorated pilot and war hero. After World War I he was employed as a show flier and pilot in Denmark and Sweden, where he met his first wife, Baroness Carin Göring–von Fock Kantzow (did you know).
whom he married in Munich in February 1922. Carin suffered also from tuberculosis during her later years.Her mother, Huldine Fock died unexpectedly on 25-09-1931. Carin couldn’t join the funeral, because of her bad condition and was shocked and later died of heart failure on 17-10-1931, four days prior to her 43rd birthday. Her husband Hermann was to busy with the NSDAP and didn’t sit at her bed when she died. Carin first was buried in Löv, Sweden, but when Göring visited the grave in October 1933 and put a wreath, in the form of a swastika, on the grave, the graveside was destroyed. The gravestone with a swastika engraved was now engraved with the text, ” We the Swedish are insult by the desecration of tombs by the German Göring, let his former wife rest in peace and save us for the German propaganda “. Hermann Göring called the baronial hunting lodge he built from 1933 Carinhall,
in her honour. It was there that he had her body re interred from her original grave in Sweden, in a funeral attended by Adolf Hitler (see Alois Hitler) (did you know).

Göring’s aristocratic background and his prestige as a war hero made him a prize recruit to the infant Nazi Party and Hitler appointed him to command the SA Brown shirts in December 1922. Nazism offered the swashbuckling Göring the promise of action, adventure, comradeship and an outlet for his unreflective, elemental hunger for power. In 1923 he took part in the Munich Beer Hall Putz, in which he was seriously wounded, in the groin and hip, owing to he remained all his life morphine addicted, and went into hiding with his godfather Ritter von Epenstein. Soon he was forced to flee from Germany for four years until a general amnesty was declared. He escaped to Austria, Italy and then Sweden, was admitted to a mental hospital, where he was treated in the psychiatric hospital of Langbro city, by the psychiatrist Olaf Kinberg 
and in September 1925, to an asylum for dangerous inmates, becoming a morphine addict in the course of his extended recovery. Olaf Kinberg died age 86 on 06-04-1960. Returning to Germany in 1927, Göring rejoined the NSDAP 
and was, now bankrupt, elected as one of its first deputies to the Reichstag

During the next five years Göring played a major part in smoothing Hitler’s road to power, (see using his contacts with conservative circles, big business and army officers to reconcile them to the Nazi Party and orchestrating the electoral triumph of 31-07-1932, which brought him the Presidency of the Reichstag. Göring was made Prussian Minister of the Interior, Commander-in-Chief of the Prussian Police and Gestapo and Commissioner for Aviation. As the creator of the Secret Police, Göring, together with Heinrich Himmler, Reinhard Heydrich and Adolf Eichmann, 
set up the early concentration camps for political opponents, showing formidable energy in terrorizing and crushing all resistance. His high valued-ed valet since 1933 till the end of the war, was Robert Kropp
. Robert Kropp in 1933 became a much discussed mysterious figure whose influence on his chief was said to have grown with the years. No other man has spent as much time in Goering’s company as Robert. No man knew more about Göring;s private life which had such an important bearing on his public activities. Robert survived the war and was many years a hall porter in the the Berchtesgardener Hof hotel, which the Americans Army run as holiday centre for the senior officers. Under the pretext of a threatened communist coup, Prussia was “cleansed” and hundreds of officers and thousands of ordinary policemen were purged, being replaced from the great reservoir of SA and SS men who took over the policing of Berlin. Göring exploited the Reichstag fire, which many suspected that he had engineered, to implement a series of emergency decrees that destroyed the last remnants of civil rights in Germany, to imprison communists and Social Democrats and ban the left-wing press. He directed operations during the Blood Purge, which eliminated his rival Ernst Julius Röhm 
and other SA leaders on 30-06-1934, (see Edmund Heines) (Johannes Schweighart) in the Knight of the long Knives. The Night of the Long Knives between 30 June and 2 July 1934 saw the killing of approximately 82 SA men, including almost its entire leadership, effectively ending the power of the SA. On 01-03-1935, he was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force and with Ernst Udet and Erhard Milch, Milch died age 79, on 25-01-1978 in Düsseldorf,
was responsible for organizing the rapid build-up of the aircraft industry and training of pilots. In 1936 his powers were further extended by his appointment as Plenipotentiary for the implementation of the Four Year Plan, which gave him virtually dictatorial controls to direct the German economy. The creation of the state-owned Hermann Göring Works in 1937, a gigantic industrial nexus which employed 700.000 workers and amassed a capital of 400 million marks, enabled him to accumulate a huge fortune. Hermann Göring used his position to indulge in ostentatious luxury, living in a palace in Berlin and building a hunting mansion named after his first wife Karin, she had died of tuberculosis in 1931, where he organized feasts, state hunts, showed off his stolen art treasures and uninhibitedly pursued his extravagant tastes. Changing uniforms and suits five times a day, affecting an archaic Germanic style of hunting dress, replete with green leather jackets, medieval peasant hats and boar spears, flaunting his medals and jewelry, Göring’s transparent enjoyment of the trappings of power, his debauches and bribe-taking, gradually corrupted his judgment. The “Iron Knight,” a curious mixture of condottiere and sybarite, “the last Renaissance man” as he liked to style himself with characteristic egomania, increasingly confused theatrical effect with real power. Nevertheless, he remained genuinely popular with the German masses who regarded him as manly, honest and more accessible than the Fuhrer, mistaking his extrovert bluster and vitality for human warmth. Göring’s cunning, brutality and ambition were displayed in the cabal he engineered against the two leading army Generals, Freiherr Werner von Fritsch and Werner von Blomberg, whom he helped to bring down in February 1938, in the misplaced hope that he would step into their shoes. Following the Crystal Night pogrom of 9 November 1938, 
it was Göring who fined the German Jewish, the family Frank 
had already left Frankfurt am Main in Germany, to Amsterdam, Holland, community a billion marks and ordered the elimination of Jews from the German economy, the “Aryanization” of their property and businesses, and their exclusion from schools, resorts, parks, forests, etc. On 12-11-1938 he warned of a “final reckoning with the Jews” should Germany come into conflict with a foreign power. It was also Göring who instructed Heydrich on 31-07-1941 to “carry out all preparations with regard to, a general solution of the Jewish question in those territories of Europe which are under German influence” Göring identified with Hitler’s territorial aspirations, playing a key role in bringing about the Anschluss in 1938 and the bludgeoning of the Czechs into submission, though he preferred to dictate a new order in Europe by “diplomatic” means rather than through a general European war. Appointed Reich Council Chairman for National Defence on 30-08-1939 and officially designated as Hitler’s successor on 1 September, Göring directed the Luftwaffe campaigns against Poland and France and on 19-06-1940 was promoted to Reichsmarschall.

Albert Göring was always willing to help those in need. On one occasion – in the autumn of 1943 – he signed passports with his own hand for a Jewish family he had befriended. Once he persuaded SS chief Heydrich to release some Czech resistance fighters from the cellars of the Gestapo. The savior of victims of the tyranny which his brother helped create, was imprisoned for several years after the war for his name alone. During the post-war-years he had many difficulties, the name Göring had become an almost impossible handicap. Grateful survivors, rescued by Albert Göring, helped him survive bitter years of joblessness. He married several times and died in 1966, after working as a designer in a construction firm in Munich. Albert died on 20-12-1966, as a penniless pariah, his chest bare of medals and formal accolades. His body was laid to rest in the Göring family plot in Munich.

Operation Eagle, convinced that he would drive the RAF from the skies and secure the surrender of the British by means of the Luftwaffe alone. Göring, however, lost control of the Battle of Britain and made a fatal, tactical error when he switched to massive night bombings of London on 07-09-1940 just when British fighter defences were reeling from losses in the air and on the ground. This move saved the RAF sector control stations from destruction and gave the British fighter defences precious time to recover. The failure of the Luftwaffe, which Hitler never forgave him, caused the abandonment of Operation Sea Lion, the planned invasion of England, and began the political eclipse of Göring. Further failures of the Luftwaffe on the Russian front and its inability to defend Germany itself from Allied bombing attacks underlined Göring’s incompetence as its supreme commander. Technical research was run down completely, not surprisingly with a Commander-in-Chief who prized personal heroism above scientific know-how and whose idea of dignified combat was ramming enemy aircraft. Göring rapidly sank into lethargy and a world of illusions, expressly forbidding General Adolf Galland 
to report that enemy fighters were accompanying bomber squadrons deeper and deeper into German territory in 1943. By this time Göring had become a bloated shadow of his former self, discredited, isolated and increasingly despised by Hitler who blamed him for Germany’s defeats. Undermined by Martin Bormann 
he died escaping the Führerbunker on 02-05-1945, age 44, suicide, intrigues, overtaken in influence by SS Reichsfùhrer Heinrich Himmler and Joseph Goebbels and Magda Goebbels

mentally humiliated by his servile dependence on the Fuhrer, Göring’s personality began to disintegrate. By the way all the big Nazis had the same dentist, Hugo Blaschke. 
When Hitler declared that he would remain in the Berlin bunker to the end, Göring, who had already left for Bavaria, misinterpreted this as an abdication and requested that he be allowed to take over at once; he was ignominiously dismissed from all his posts, expelled from the Party and arrested by a SS group under command of Obersturmbannführer Dr. Bernhard Frank 
. Frank didn’t know what to do with Göring and his large group around him and moved them to Göring’s castle at Mauterndorf.

and Göring had taken twelve monograms decorated bags and a big red hat box. The prison staff spent a complete afternoon searching for content on contrabands and grazed by items like jewelry-occupied military medals, diamond and ruby rings, swastika-shaped jewels, semi-precious stones, Goering’s Iron World War, silk underwear, Four military uniforms, slippers, a hot water kettle, four glasses, two cigar clippers and piles of watches, toe pins and cigarette boxes. Göring also had cash worth 81,268 Reichsmark (which would now be 800,000 euros). He shouted that one of the rings contained the biggest emerald that he had ever seen in his long collector’s life. The stone was two and a half centimeters long and wide one centimeter wide. These glittering war bugs were largely stolen in the occupied territories.
To his great surprise, he was put on trial at Nuremberg in 1946. During his trial Goering, who had slimmed in captivity and had been taken off drugs, defended himself with aggressive vigor and skill, frequently outwitting the prosecuting course, Robert Jackson.

Edwin “Ned” Putzell, the former Naples mayor whose boundless enthusiasm and dedication to the city and Collier County community marked a colourful career and an intriguing life, died late Tuesday, age 90, on 25-12-2003 at Naples Community Hospital after a brief illness. However, the claim of SS Obergruppenführer Bach-Zelewski 
deserves more credence. Even during the pre-trial detention before the start of the trial, the former chief of the anti-partisan troops, Göring, is said to have handed the poison in a bar of soap during a meeting in the prison corridor. Bach-Zelewski has recounted how, weeks before, he began to greet Göring lavishly at every meeting on his way to or from an interrogation and to pay him every possible comedic tribute to amuse the guards and make fun of them. At every opportunity of such a silly display, Bach-Zelewski said in 1957, he finally saw an opportunity to shake hands with Göring, which was strictly forbidden. On this occasion, the poison would have changed hands. Certainly, Bach-Zelewski’s story also sounds adventurous enough, but in 1951 he hands the Americans a second ampoule of poison. The glass is examined and compared with the carefully preserved splinters that Dr. Martin from Göring’s oral cavity in 1946. “This ampoule is real,” the detective determined. “it is glass from the same production series”. And US Attorney at Ansbach, William D. Canfield, confirms Bach-Zelewski: “I am now inclined to believe that your statement is correct.”This solves the mystery of Göring’s suicide – at least with a probability bordering on certainty.

Among his possessions was a silk dress, a silk robe folded under his pillow, two pairs of silk stocks and silk underwear. He also had a pair of U.S. made sunglasses, a shoeshine rag, a deck of playing cards, cigarette papers, Velvet tobacco, Durham tobacco, books and magazines. Following his death, Gerecke visited Göring’s wife, Emmy in her little house north of Nuremberg. Frau Göring, he said “I want to tell you that the act your husband committed is not a suicide in the eyes of God” Gerecke died age 68, in 1961.
All Nuremberg condemned and hanged by the U.S hangman John Woods, 
Julius Streicher, Joachim von Ribbentrop, Wilhelm Keitel, Alfred Jodl, Wilhelm Frick, Arthur Seyss Inquart, Fritz Sauckel, Ernst Kaltenbrunner and Hans Frank, were secretly in coffins transferred in Army trucks to the Ostfriedhof, Eastern Cemetery of Munich, on 16-10-1946 and cremated. The coffins had faked names and they gave Streicher’s coffin ironical a Jewisch name. The same night four Generals, an American, an Englishman, a Frenchman and a Russian were secretly driven straight to the closest bridge, the Reichenbachbrücke over the river Isar and they scattered the ashes downstream.

Who was the PRIVATE PILOT for Goering? Or did he have more than one? Are the names of these pilots known? I have been searching for this information for a few years and I’m still confused as to the name of his pilot(s).

Friedrich Hucke was Göring’s private pilot from June 1933 to July 1936. In August 1936, Günther Fechner assumed that role.
